OVERVIEW
This article explains how to manually update and correct existing scheduled or recurring meetings in the Zoom web portal. Updating Zoom meeting time zones ensures meeting schedules remain accurate following British Columbia's move to permanent Pacific Time.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- An active Zoom account.
- Access to the Zoom web portal: https://sfu.zoom.us/
- Your device configured to the permanent B.C. time zone.
STEPS
1. Sign In to Zoom
2. Open Upcoming Meetings
Navigate to https://sfu.zoom.us/meeting#/upcoming or select
Meetings from the Zoom portal to view and manage your scheduled meetings.

3. Open Meeting Settings
Locate meetings displaying two different times and select the meeting topic or click Edit to modify the meeting settings.
4. Verify the Meeting Time Zone
Confirm that the
Time Zone field is set to
(GMT-7:00) Vancouver.
If the meeting is recurring, verify that the recurrence pattern and meeting times reflect your intended schedule.

5. Save Your Changes
Click
Save at the bottom of the page to apply your updates.

WHAT TO EXPECT
After saving your updates, your Zoom meetings will synchronize with the Zoom desktop application, Outlook calendar, and Canvas where applicable. Any meetings displaying multiple times due to time zone discrepancies will show a single corrected time.

IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
Wrong Meeting Start Times
If you do not update meeting settings, meetings scheduled before November 1, 2026 may be delayed by one hour, and meeting reminders may also arrive one hour late.
Time Zone Mismatches
Ensure your Outlook calendar, device operating system, and Zoom profile are all configured to the permanent B.C. time zone. Review your Zoom profile settings at https://sfu.zoom.us/profile and confirm the time zone is set to (GMT-7:00) Vancouver.
Recurring Meeting Time Errors
If a recurring meeting series displays inconsistent times, edit the entire meeting series rather than a single occurrence.
