Sign into Gmail for Android

Overview

This article explains how to sign into the Gmail app for Android with your SFU Mail account.

Note: Gmail for iOS is not available as it currently does not support Modern Authentication (OAuth2). You will see "Incorrect username or password" when attempting to sign into Gmail on iOS until the vendor implements support.

 

Details

To add your SFU account as a secondary mailbox on the Gmail app:

  1. Open the Gmail app on your Android device
     
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top right.

  3. Tap Add another account

  4. Choose Exchange and Office 365

  5. Enter your SFU email address. Then tap Next.

  6. Enter your SFU Computing ID and password. Then tap Sign In.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  7. Enter your MFA code if prompted. Then tap Submit.
     
  8. You may be asked to trust sfu.ca. Tap Continue.

  9. Your SFU Mail account should be added. Tap Done.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  10. To access your newly added SFU mailbox, tap your profile picture and select your SFU account.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

Congratulations! You've successfully set up your SFU Mail account on the Gmail app.
