ABOUT THIS SERVICE
Digital signage is managed by IT Services in partnership with SFU Communcations and Marketing. The service provides a digital platform to communicate University events and services. This service offers an opportunity for recognized campus organizations and university departments to publicize events or broadcast announcements that are of student interest or student-oriented in nature across all campuses.
IT Services maintains the content management system (powered by Carousel), manages accounts/licenses and provides consultation services to departments interested in implementing a digital signage solution. SFU Communications and Marketing is available to work with departments to develop their content management strategy.
Communicators in departments, schools or Faculties have access to this service.
Licensing and subscription fees apply to use this use service.

- Unified messaging from University Communications and targeted content according to campus location
- Centrally managed notifications for security such as weather warnings and catastrophic events
- Class cancellations, room changes, exam schedules and other pertinent academic information for students
- Up-to-date information on campus events & promotions
- Introduction of media rich content such as moving images, video, TV feeds, and scrolling text to improve engagement
- Unified digital signage system installed in SFU common areas
- Ability to self-manage content for department digital display using standardized templates
- Self-managed end-user training available for content management
