Desk Phones and Soft Phones


The Telephone Services team provides a Desk Phone and Soft Phone services to the SFU Community. Some of the features of this service include:

  • On-Campus Landline Desk Phones
  • Soft Phones (Mitel MiCollab)
  • Voice Mail
  • Toll Free Numbers
  • Verified Account Codes
  • Long Distance Calling Cards
  • Phone Trees (automated attendants)
  • Other call features like call ID, hunt groups, etc.

The desk phone (hand set) model options provided for each line is highly dependent on the location. Traditional Analog/Digital service is still provided in many locations, while other can be serviced by newer VoIP technology.

  • Long distance telephone services
  • Voice conferencing services (Telus and Primus)
  • Extension for on-campus desktop telephone service
  • Extension for TeleWorker serivces (non DID)

Note! Departmental approval needed for phone requests

Costs associated with phone services are charged to your departments. All requests need to be approved by your departments before we can proceed. Please go to your departmental signing authorities (e.g., department admins, or directors, etc.) for approval.
