Alertus is an emergency broadcast system that allows SFU to send full screen messages to all university managed computers. As part of the SFU Alerts program, Alertus is included in a suite of apps and resources that help keep the SFU community safe.
All university managed computers come installed with Alertus. To ensure it is installed, find the Alertus icon near the clock on your computer.
(If you do not see the icon on your computer, contact your IT support person or submit a support ticket)
During an emergency, Alertus will display a desktop message to inform you about an emergency or the need to take any needed action. To dismiss the full screen alert, click on the green Acknowledge button. Note that, computers not logged in during the emergency won’t display the alert screen.
