- Access to your SFU email account
- Faculty and Staff
- Approval for a paid Adobe license from your department if you are a faculty or staff member
- Students (undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a credit program)

Steps to create and activate your Adobe ID
Faculty and Staff
You must first be approved for a paid Adobe license from your department. Once you're approved, you'll receive an email from Adobe (messages@adobe.com) to proceed with one of the following:
- If you're new to Adobe, you'll be required to set a new password for your SFU Adobe ID
- If you've used an SFU Adobe ID previously, you can proceed with signing into Creative Cloud to install and use the apps you need
To request a paid Adobe license and get installation instructions, see:
Students
Students must first complete the Adobe consent process in MySFU:
- Visit MySFU (my.sfu.ca)
- Select Consents
- Under 'Adobe', select Review Terms and Conditions
- Review the terms and conditions. Select I agree to continue
- Wait up to 24 hours for an email from Adobe (messages@adobe.com)
Steps to set a new password for your Adobe ID
Once you receive an email from Adobe (messages@adobe.com), you can proceed with setting a new password for your account:
- Visit the Adobe Account portal at https://account.adobe.com
- Enter your SFU email address in the format
computingID@sfu.ca (ex. kipling@sfu.ca, not 'firstname_lastname@sfu.ca') and select Continue
- Select Company or School Account
- Select Reset your password
- Check your SFU email account for the verification code sent by Adobe
- Enter the verification code
- Create and confirm a new password for your Adobe account
We recommend setting a password that's different from your SFU login for extra security.
What to expect
- Your SFU Adobe ID will be associated with your SFU email address in the format
computingID@sfu.ca (ex. kipling@sfu.ca, not 'firstname_lastname@sfu.ca').
- Once your password has been set, you can use the account to sign in to Adobe services that require an SFU Adobe ID.
- Having an SFU Adobe ID does not automatically provide a personal Adobe Creative Cloud license. If you're a student, you'll need to visit an identified IT computer lab or shared space in-person to use Adobe software.
If something goes wrong
I can't sign in with my Adobe ID
- Students: Adobe software is only accessible in identified IT computer labs and shared spaces in-person, not on personal devices.
- After submitting your consent through MySFU, newly requested Adobe ID's can take up to 24 hours to become available. Wait for the Adobe email confirming your Adobe ID is ready.
- If you're using an Adobe ID for the first time, you'll need to reset your password before you can sign in.
- Your Adobe ID is associated with your SFU email address in the format
computingID@sfu.ca (ex. kipling@sfu.ca, not 'firstname_lastname@sfu.ca').
