OVERVIEW
This article explains how to print or save a PDF copy of your Outlook calendar before the transition to Pacific Canada Time (PCT). Keeping a copy of your calendar provides a reference in the event that calendar appointments shift unexpectedly after the time zone change.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- An active SFU Mail account.
- Access to Outlook on the web at outlook.office.com.
- A web browser.
- Optional: Access to a printer or permission to save files to your computer.
NOTE: It is recommended to use SFU Mail in a web browser (
outlook.office.com), as it provides the most up-to-date and reliable calendar information based on your account settings.
STEPS
1. Sign in to Outlook on the web
2. Open the Calendar
Select the Calendar icon from the left navigation pane.
3. Dismiss the time zone prompt
If a time zone prompt appears, select Not Now.
4. Navigate to November
Use the navigation controls to move to the November calendar view.
5. Open the print options
Select Print from the Outlook calendar menu.
6. Configure print settings
Adjust the calendar print settings to your preference, then select Print.
7. Print the calendar
Review the destination and print settings, then select Print to create a printed copy of your calendar.
8. Save to PDF (Optional)
If you prefer a digital copy, change the destination to Save to PDF.
9. Save the PDF file (Optional)
Select Save and choose a location on your computer to store the PDF copy.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You will have a printed or PDF copy of your Outlook calendar that can be referenced after the transition to Pacific Canada Time (PCT).
Keep the copy until after the time zone transition. If appointments appear to shift by one hour, you can compare your Outlook calendar to the saved version to confirm the original schedule.
To further prepare for the time zone transition, ensure that your computer, devices, and web browsers are fully updated.
IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
Cannot sign in to Outlook
Verify your SFU credentials and complete any required multi-factor authentication prompts.
Print option is unavailable
Refresh the browser session and confirm you are using Outlook on the web at outlook.office.com.
Unable to save as PDF
Verify that your selected print destination supports PDF output and that you have permission to save files to the chosen location.
