GETTING STARTED WITH ADOBE

An Adobe ID is required to use current versions of Adobe Creative Cloud products in SFU computer labs. To get started with Adobe at SFU, follow the steps below:

  1. Sign up for an SFU Adobe ID
  2. Set your SFU Adobe ID password
  3. Log into Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop

1. SIGN UP FOR AN SFU ADOBE ID

SFU Adobe ID is available to all current SFU faculty, staff and students. Visit the SFU Adobe ID sign-up page to sign up for an account.

2. SET SFU ADOBE ID PASSWORD

1. Go to the Adobe Account portal to set your password.

2. At the Adobe Account login screen, enter your SFU email address (i.e., yourSFUcomputingID@sfu.ca). Click Continue. Adobe Account portal sign in. Common social media links to Apple, Google and Facebook. Email address example reads, your SFU computing ID at SFU dot ca
3. Select Company or School Account. Select an account type option, personal account or company or school account.
4. Click Reset your password. Adobe sends a verification code to your SFU email address. Enter your password page showing company or school account for your SFU computing ID at SFU dot ca.
5. Enter the verification code you received.  Update your password step requesting user to enter the 6 digit code sent to the user's inbox.

6. Set your password.

 

Update your password step now requesting user to enter new password then to repeat the new password to validate it.

 

3. LOG INTO ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD DESKTOP

Adobe Creative Cloud products are authorized by the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application.

  • Unmanaged device users should install the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application
  • Managed device users can install Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop via the Managed Software Centre.
1. Launch Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application. The application may open a web browser to complete the login process.  

2. At the Adobe Account login screen, enter your SFU email address (i.e., yourSFUcomputingID@sfu.ca). Click Continue

4. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD

Who can use adobe creative cloud?
All current SFU faculty, staff and students with an SFU Adobe ID are eligible to access Adobe Creative Cloud products installed in select computer labs and some shared work spaces.
how do i find help with my sfu adobe id?
Adobe ID are managed by Adobe Inc. and not SFU. You can obtain support from Adobe as required.

If you are unsure, please submit a service request via ServiceHub or contact your local IT representative for software inquiries/installations.
I DON'T NEED ALL CREATIVE CLOUD APPS. HOW CAN I JUST GET THE ONE I NEED?
Our agreement with Adobe provides licenses for a special Higher Education collection of apps. Single apps are not available through our licensing agreement.
how do i install adobe creative cloud desktop application on a managed computer?
Managed devices, whether Windows or Mac, use a Software Centre application to allow end-users to install or remove optional software titles. Visibility of the Adobe products in the Software Centre depends on your license. There are more details on the Managed Devices Overview and FAQs page.
