Microsoft Teams

ABOUT THIS SERVICE

Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) is a virtual collaboration app that brings together Microsoft 365 services (such as Office and OneDrive) to keep you virtually connected to the SFU community from anywhere at any time. Some key features include:

Series of icons indicating Microsoft Teams features. They read: 1 to 1 chat and group chat, videoconferencing and screen sharing, document collaboration, file sharing and storage, virtual community spaces called Teams.

GET STARTED

MS Teams is available to all current SFU faculty, staff, and graduate students with a Microsoft 365 account and have enrolled in Multi-Factor Authentication. You do not need to be a part of an existing team to get access to MS Teams.

You can access MS Teams by via the web portal, dekstop app, or mobile app.

WHO CAN USE MS TEAMS?

FACULTY AND STAFF

MS Teams is available to current SFU faculty and staff with a Microsoft 365 account and have enrolled in SFU's Multi-Factor Authentication service.

STUDENTS

MS Teams is available to current graduate students with a Microsoft 365 account and have enrolled in SFU's Multi-Factor Authentication service. Currently SFU Teams is not deployed for course-related work and not generally available to undergraduate students. Undergraduate students may be given access to individual Teams such as Committee or Research group participation when they are made a member of an SFU Group that is used to populate a Team.

OTHER

There are no current plans to provide access to SFU alumni, retirees, emeritus and adjunct professors.
